The EC has kicked off a nationwide update of the voters’ register, running for 21 days from January 22 to February 11, 2025. This exercise is designed to make sure all eligible voters are included and ready to cast their votes when the time comes.
You can register, verify, or update your voter details at parish and ward-level registration centers across the country.
Why Does This Matter?
1. New Voters Can Register: If you’ve recently turned 18 or will be 18 by January 12, 2026 you’re now eligible to vote.
2. Fix Any Errors: Spotted a misspelled name or outdated details? This is your chance to correct it.
3. Fair Elections: With an updated register, everyone who’s eligible gets a chance to vote.
For all the above to take place, One needs to;
• Visit your local registration center.
• Bring your National ID (NIN) or other identification documents.
• Verify or update your details with EC officials.

The EC has called on Ugandans to report any issues or irregularities they encounter during this process.
After the update, the EC will publish the revised voters’ register for public inspection, ensuring every eligible voter is included before election day.
