Sheila's journey to Afro Nation was an exciting blend of inspiration and reflection. She relished every moment but also saw opportunities for growth, especially in representing more East African artists. She believes that by including a wider variety of East African musicians, Afro Nation can become even more inclusive

Sheila Salta, one of NRG Radio's vibrant presenters, recently returned from a rejuvenating vacation in Portugal, where she attended the electrifying Afro Nation music festival. The event was a whirlwind of music, culture, and unforgettable performances, and Sheila has some fantastic highlights to share.

One of the most remarkable moments for Sheila was experiencing Nicki Minaj's performance up close. Watching Nicki dominate the stage was a revelation, showcasing the stark difference between a great performing artist and a great recording artist. Nicki's magnetic stage presence, her ability to engage the crowd, and her sheer charisma left a lasting impression on Sheila. It was a masterclass in live performance that underlined the dedication and artistry required to truly captivate an audience.

Sheila was particularly thrilled by the phenomenal East African stage. The vibrant sets, energetic music, and enthusiastic crowd created an electrifying atmosphere. However, she noted that while artists like Diamond Platinumz are fantastic representatives of East African music, there is a rich pool of talent from Uganda and Kenya that deserves more recognition. Sheila hopes that future editions of Afro Nation will feature a broader array of East African artists, offering a more diverse and representative musical experience.

Despite the incredible performances and the thrill of the festival, Sheila found herself longing for the comforts of home. She particularly missed Ugandan Kinyebwa and Matooke, those beloved delicacies that are more than just food—they are a taste of home and a reminder of her roots. This craving for familiar flavors in the midst of such an international event highlighted the deep connection to her culture and the comfort of home-cooked meals.

Sheila's journey to Afro Nation was an exciting blend of inspiration and reflection. She relished every moment but also saw opportunities for growth, especially in representing more East African artists. She believes that by including a wider variety of East African musicians, Afro Nation can become even more inclusive, showcasing the rich and diverse tapestry of African music and culture. PORTUGAL 🇵🇹 @afronation READYYY !!!

Her Afro Nation adventure is a testament to the power of music to unite, inspire, and entertain. It's also a call to celebrate and uplift the diverse talents from East Africa. We are excited to have her back and can't wait to hear more about her journey.
