Spotify's 2024 data reveals that musicians such as Azawi and Vinka have achieved unprecedented streaming numbers, signaling a new era where Uganda is not just participating but leading in shaping Africa's musical legacy. These artists are setting trends, breaking barriers, and putting the 256 on the map

1.Joshua Baraka

Joshua Baraka’s beautiful vocals helped him break into the scene, and he has since become internet famous.His popular songs include Dreams, Nana, Dalilah, and Falling in Love. Some of the biggest international artists, like Fave, DJ Neptune, KiDi, Bien, Joeboy, and many more, have collaborated with him.Baraka is ready to make his voice heard all around the world, so watch out for him.

2.Azawi

Well-known for her smooth vocals and contagious enthusiasm, she is an expert at using music to tell stories. Her hits, including "My Year," "Slow Dancing," "Party Mood," and "Repeat It," have been a boom to the Ugandan music industry She has teamed up with King Promise of Ghana and Sauti Sol of Kenya for Across Borders because of her exceptional voice. We can't wait for Azawi's talent to reach its full potential in 2025 as she continues as a major force in African music.

3.Elijah Kitaka

Elijah Kitaka creates music that strikes a variety of notes by fusing pop, jazz and is more than just a vocalist but a trend setter. Under Swangz Avenue management, he has consistently released hits, leaving his fans with no time to rest. Beginning with the 2024 hymn "Dawa," which also happens to be a collaboration with Savara and Bien.Other songs include "Nothing," "Stay," "Perfect Weather," and "Lion Heart." He contributed to the All Star Swangz Album, which was a commercial success. 

4.Vinka

The queen of dancefloor anthems, Vinka is all about energy, catchy lyrics, and feel-good vibes. She’s been serving hits consistently with songs like ; Chips Na Ketchup,Love Panic,Onina,Only for You and Tompa featuring Kataleya and Kandle
Her music career so far has earned her collaborations with Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz on “Dance With Me.” and so much more. We believe that she will still make 2025 a year blessed with good music only.

5. Kapeke

His fresh talent is redefining Uganda’s music scene with his experimental beats and thought-provoking lyrics.  Since officially starting his music career in late 2020, he has gained recognition for his energetic performances and hit songs like "Shuu" ft Fik Fameica and "Swiririri," the latter featuring Rickman Manrick. His unique flow of lyrics and choice of beats will only make 2025 a worthwhile as we anticipate to share more of his musical talent to the world .

6. Ava Peace

Ava Peace is a vocal powerhouse bringing soulful, emotional depth to Uganda’s music. As part of her journey, Ava collaborated with the renowned Swangz Avenue label, working on hit tracks like Golden Glow and Let Me In.As of end of 2024, Ava Peace’s fan base has largely increased and she also shows much determination to keep the hits coming.

7. Winnie Wa Mummy

Winnie Wa Mummy has made waves with her playful style and catchy hooks. She’s the life of every party and your go-to for hype tunes like Kwata  Wano, Mukyala Wa Boda, Mummy Anthem, and Kati Kati
Bagged a feature with Kenya’s Nadia Mukami on Hustler’s Anthem*.  

8.Zafaran

Zafaran is Uganda’s rising star in Afro-soul. Her sultry voice and relatable lyrics make her one of the most promising acts today.  With hit Songs like Enyanda,Sembera,Gwe Wange,Yenze. She has Performed alongside Nigeria’s Joeboy in Sunrise Serenade.

9.Fik Fameica

The  OG of Ugandan rap, Fik Fameica’s infectious energy and relatable lyrics have earned him a loyal fanbase. He has hit songs like Mafia, Buligita,Lock,Lov Lov.
He has Collaborated with Sarkodie on Street Anthem and Patoranking on Omu bwati.

10.Winnie Nwagi

The boss lady of Ugandan music, Winnie Nwagi’s charisma and vocal range make her a fan favorite. Her performances always leave a mark.  She has hit songs like Jangu, Matala, Show Me, Magic.
